Like I said above, perhaps not so clearly, “they” (meaning the video officials) reviewed the tape and changed the scoring line.

After watching that 5 on 3 power play, I got the sense that if CC had 5 on 3 all night, they still would have lost. So many sloppy passes, lax play, and inability to get quality shots. Is this what a #1 team looks like?

Sharon! I see what you were saying… I had forgotten to put that in the box score. But yes, it was Bill’s goal and not Tyler’s.

Actually, it hit Bill Sweatt’s arm before going into the net. I believe his words to CC media relations director Dave Moross were something to the effect of: “I wouldn’t take away his first goal of the season, but…”
So they reviewed the tape and agreed with Sweatt and the change was made.

Yep. Everyone’s human. Unfortunately for defensemen and goalies, everyone notices when you have a brief lapse. Ever noticed how many shifts forwards can go without scoring and no one says anything ?

Great article Kate! I like how you are willing to name the players who are human and make mistakes. Nothing wrong with us knowing who was on the ice when brakedowns happen. Hope you keep it up!!
