Moore slips to 21st, selected by Columbus

June 26th, 2009, 7:12 pm · 4 Comments · posted by Frank Schwab

Defenseman John Moore slipped a little bit in the draft, going 21st to Columbus, which traded up to get him. Moore slipping isn’t the worst thing for CC - especially if the Blue Jackets push him to play college instead of junior hockey next season.
Moore ties Mark Stuart’s record. Stuart was the highest-drafted player in CC history, at 21st overall.

Any word on if John has decided on attending CC, or if he has chosen to play juniors? I know which one I am hoping for!

Sorry Harry, haven’t heard anything as of this moment. I think it’s a pretty tough decision for Moore. He seemed to be legitimately on the fence last time I talked to him about it.

Thanks Frank, I appreciate the response. I would think if he doesn’t come to CC, that that would leave the Tigers with a big “hole” in their team this year, with little time to adjust. But as we’ve learned in the past, the team can’t revolve around one player.

I was just wondering if there is any word on if any of the CC players are at any development camps?
