St. Cloud goalie ready to step up

The hockey season hasn’t started yet but Dan Dunn has been deflecting questions like slap shots for a couple of weeks now.

“Everyone is like ‘Why? Why do you want to come back?’ ” said Dunn, St. Cloud State’s junior goalie.

He left campus last May and spent the summer home in Oshawa, Ontario, not knowing whether he’d return. He says he was basically told there would be no room for him in the Huskies’ crease with senior Jase Weslosky and heralded freshman Mike Lee.
