Robert Morris tied the game at 1-1 headed into the first intermission on a goal by Scott Kobialko, whose shot popped over Cc goalie Joe Howe as Kobialko was driven into the netminder.
That answered a goal by sophomore Nick Dineen, the second as a Tiger, two minutes earlier when he backhanded in a rebound off a slap shot by senior defenseman Kris Fredheim.
The play was set up by freshman defenseman Mike Boivin, who kept the puck from getting out of the zone and sent the puck into the opposite corner where Dineen tracked it down, passing to Fredheim out on the point for his slapper.
Colorado College sent 21 shots on net in the first period and was able to generate some good chances in 5-on-5 play, which was an emphasis coming into the nonconference game.
