No. 6 Bemidji State 3, No. 3 Minnesota-Duluth 2 (OT)
Bemidji State junior Shea Walters picked a good time to score his first of the season; 13:48 left in overtime to be exact.
“It was a big win off the draw,” Walters said. “It got kicked up to Dan MacIntyre who made a nice pass across and (Jamie) McQueen had a nice screen in front, fortunately it went in. I just wanted to get it on net as quick as I could.”
BSU’s Matt Read scored 28 seconds into the third period to tie the game and force the extra period against the 11th-ranked Bulldogs (22-10-6).
Unranked BSU (15-17-5), which finished 10th in the WCHA during the regular season, takes on No. 2 seed Denver (23-10-5), the league runner-up, in the 1:07 p.m. Friday semifinal.
