After coming into the season picked to finish eight by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s coaches and seventh by the media, the league-leading Tigers (7-2-1, 6-1-1) are ranked No. 7 in both major polls.
”It’s good for confidence and it’s good to get some recognition nationally,” coach Scott Owens said. “But it doesn’t really matter at all. What counts is the RPI and Pairwise in mid-January.”
The league lead is more important as are the 13 points in eight games.
“We need to make sure we pile up some points because our schedule gets much tougher after Christmas,” Owens said.

U.S. College Hockey Online has a poll for online viewers to vote for which unheralded team, including CC and Air Force, that people expect could reach the Frozen Four.
